Never Give Up! is the seventh book I’ve designed and published in the last four years. Written by Dr. Paul Lambert, former Director of the Oklahoma Heritage Association and commissioned by Governor Anoatubby of the Chickasaw Nation, this book is a story about the life of Pearl Carter Scott.
When Pearl was a little girl, Wiley Post would land his plane in the field next to her house. Wiley came to visit his brother who lived across the street. Soon after, Post befriended Pearl’s family, and her father became the first passenger to fly in the Winnie Mae. Pearl was the second. Before his famous trip around the world, Wiley taught Pearl to fly.
By the age of thirteen, Pearl’s father bought her an airplane, converted a pasture into an airport, and Pearl became one of the first American aviatrix in history. After her family lost everything in the Great Depression, she turned her life toward the service of the Chickasaw people.
Celebrated by the likes of NASA, Pearl became a revered tribal elder who was inducted into several Hall of Fames before she died.

After slogging away for years to beat the next deadline, it's nice to have a place to quickly record my professional experiences. I started this blog, as I was finishing the design and launch of the second of four media studios on the 7th floor of The Oklahoman in Oklahoma City and one studio east of the White House in the National Press Building. Below are a set of links reflecting our dreams, our challenges and the products and services we chose.
